Construction and Birthday Updates- Sai Krushna Mandir

With the Divine Blessings and grace of our Beloved Swami, the ground floor of Phase 1 of the children’s home – Sai Krushna Mandir – was inaugurated on 23^rd November, 2012. Swami's  birthday celebrations were held on 23rd November morning at Phase 1 of Sai Krushna Mandir amidst much grandeur.
It was wonderful to have students, devotees and their families participate in the simple but satisfying function.

The great take away from this function was the amount that can be achieved when dedicated families and individuals come together for Swami's work keeping Him as the center and reason of their lives. As Swami says, when like minded people unite for a noble purpose, wonders can be achieved. Currently, the plumbing, masonry and electrical works are all being taken up for the first floor also. The entire building would be finished by February/ March. It is expected that Sai Krushna Mandir will be functional as a children’s home from April/May 2013. That way, the children who will be coming will also be able to join during the change of academic session. We also invite applications for suitable volunteer families who will be willing to live with and take care of the children. 

Sharavati School Update- Teacher's Workshop

Even as the students took a break for the Navarathri vacations after their examinations, the teachers were kept busy with their corrections. All the students have performed well and the areas of improvement have been identified.

From 25-28 October, we had a workshop fpor the teachers on diverse topics ranging from Educare, Methods to improve teaching, Teaching aids, Games, to Personality Development and Appraisal.

School Updates

English classes for teachers

With the commencement of the new academic year, Teacher’s English training has begun. Ms. Lalita Pulavarti, a master in Bio-statistics and doctor in Sociology is spearheading the training by conducting English classes for the teachers every Saturday. She is currently working as with an NGO in Bangalore and is actively involved in the activities of Sai Krushna Charitable Trust in her free time. The content of the training will be made available on the website soon.

Further, last week, the children from Classes 1- 7 were provided with new text books, note books, and other stationery items for the New academic year. The excitement of the children was notable when they started classes with their new books. The members of the Sai Krushna Charitable Trust distributed the books to the children.

Children's Corner- School Update

Our children in the Sharavathi Kannada Higher Primary School are returning to school from the first of June. The teachers have evaluated the papers and the results have been announced. The performance of the children has been much better this semester. The school has secured a 91% result at the Class 10 level. In the month of May, the classrooms of the primary school were given a new look with whitewashing of walls, painting of blackboards and making the classroom more fun and informative with posters/ exhibits etc. The children will also be given text books, note books, pencil boxes, geometry boxes, tables books and other items of stationery completely free of charge. The School Management Team has devised a more comprehensive time table to incorporate periods for Bal Vikas, Physical Education, Craft work, Music and Teaching through Videos. This will help develop a more holistic attitude of the children which will enable learning and all round growth.
